Is Form History Control supposed to work with Youtube?
For me it doesn't.
THanks.

Firefox has disabled your super plugin from my computer, for security reasons...
I had to disable "xpinstall.whitelist.required" and then download "Form History Control" (bring this key from "true" to "false") again. It works fine actually.
Thanks.

I have Firefox 47.0 installed on Linux Mint and I don't have any security issues with Form History Control.

In Windows 7, Firefox disables Form History Control when a particular cleaning option is selected for Firefox in Bleachbit, and probably in Ccleaner as well. I am enabling one Bleachbit Firefox option at at a time to see which is the culprit.

I have not seen this problem in Linux Xubuntu 14.04, where I also use Bleachbit, but it's possible as well.

In Windows, Thunderbird should not be cleaned at all, and in Linux perhaps only the cache.

About the youtube question: if you are referring to the searchbox on the youtube page, it has the autocomplete option set to "off" (html) so formhistory wil not be stored by Firefox.

The short answer being: no

About Youtube , does this also apply to the comments?
This would be important to me because it can very easily happen that you make a wrong click and the comment is gone. It happend so often to me.

Just tested, it works with comments/reactions. History is saved while you type when adding a reaction on a youtube page.

great , thanks!
I've now also seen it in the editor history (Form Manager). I always looked in "restore editor field" or whatever that is in english (I've german)

Please sign your fantastic add-on so that Firefox 48 accepts it

@Enlightenment:
The add-on is signed, just like any other add-on you can download directly from Mozilla.
There has been reports from users with similar problems but they were all caused by Windows cleaning/protecting software, so you might want to check that. Also see the second and fourth comment in this thread.

I seem to experience an issue that causes my FHC to neither list nor fill-in any existing entries anymore. The information panel says there are 13322 form entries (which seems a bit much) and 113 multiline entries (which should be way more considering how much I write on the internet almost every day), yet the list and search never find anything, zero. I tried saving new entries manually but it seems they aren't actually saved (no changes to the information panel or anything else).
I wish FHC had a few more options concerning listing, copying & pasting entries, especially mulitline entries. Also, more feedback on the fields it's working (or not working) on, and a more immediate way like a context menu to force or prevent the saving of any input box or form.
How would I best go about resetting FHC (those parts of it that aren't saved in prefs/user.js)?

PS: I know there already is a context menu related to the current page I'm on - however, the menu entries related to the input fields are always either grey or don't seem to have a lasting effect. For example, I tried saving e-mail addresses for fields that weren't specifically designed for e-mail addresses, but manually saving their contents (when the menu wasn't greyed out for a change) didn't actually save it between, at least not between sessions (and I assume that Firefox itself retains some of the information for the current session, but not between sessions despite that it's set-up to never automatically clear anything).
Ugh, please don't tell me I have to create a whole new FF profile again, because that would really "suck".

Hmm, either you indeed have a lot of formhistory entries or the registry might be corrupt.
If you do not care much about your current formhistory registry, you could try to delete it and let Firefox create a fresh clean copy for you. Multiline entries will not be affected by this because they are in a datastore maintained by FHC.
To delete the formhistory you have to locate the formhistory.sqlite database file in your profile folder and delete it (make a backup first!). When Firefox is restarted it will be recreated again (or at least when FF tries to store the next formhistory entry).
To find the profile folder: from the FF Help menu, select Troubleshooting Information, the Troubleshooting Information tab will open, then under the Application Basics section, click on Show Folder.
